Unions are expensive and insert a wall between the organization’s leadership and its employees. Unions change the relationship dynamic and culture in organizations by requiring a dualism in organizational decision making and everyday communications.
While the percentage of the private workforce represented by organized labor has dramatically decreased, unions have become increasingly aggressive in seeking to recover lost membership and the traditional lines of what union represents which employees have all but disappeared.
