Massachusetts stands at a transportation crossroads. And no one will have more to say about the road ahead than Stephanie Pollack.
The Secretary of Transportation and CEO of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation returns to the AIM Executive Forum on September 27 to discuss the roads and bridges companies use to get products to customers; the MBTA’s critical role in a burgeoning metro area; and the ability of people to commute to and from work.
Her speech will come as the Baker Administration and the state Legislature prepare for a major debate on the strategic direction and financing of the transportation system.
Secretary Pollack has established project selection criteria and set investment priorities for a $13 billion, five-year capital plan that focuses on improving reliability for the traveling public by modernizing Massachusetts’ transportation assets.
She has focused MassDOT on serving its customers, with initiatives such as All-Electronic Tolling and reducing wait-times at Registry of Motor Vehicles.
Since July 2015, the leadership of the MBTA has also reported to Secretary Pollack, giving her a critical role in steering the ongoing turnaround of the transit system serving eastern Massachusetts.
